About Us

Kapar Energy Ventures Sdn Bhd is a subsidiary of Tenaga Nasional Berhad (60%) and Malakoff Corporation Berhad (40%). We are the second largest thermal power plant in Malaysia with the generating capacity of 2200 MegaWatt.

We are located in Klang Valley, 56km west of Kuala Lumpur, off the coastal road between Port Klang and Kuala Selangor facing the straits of Malacca.

We are the only power plant in Malaysia with triple fuel firing capability (gas, oil and coal). With this advantages, we are always inspire to be a reliable and available plant to support the National Grid system.

We are committed in ensuring the environmental and sustainability on eco system are well maintained by enforcing, monitoring and controlling all the plant processes.

The main attractions here during monsoon season is the power plant ash pond as a sanctuary for migratory birds stopping over from Siberia to Australia.
